We are excited to host the first annual Williamsburg Science Fair! This fair is for learners in grades K-6, and judging categories will be by grade level. We encourage young scientists to work either individually or in pairs, and the project's entry will be in the highest grade level of the team. For example, if a grade 2 and a grade 5 student partner on a project, the project will be entered into the grade 5-6 judging category.
The science fair will take place on Tuesday, April 7. Participants should arrive between 9:15 and 9:30 to set up, and judging will begin at 10:00 am. The fair will conclude by 11:30 am, so parents and participants should prepare to depart by noon!
Because table space is limited, we ask that you only register if you are 100 percent committed to participate.
Grade level categories:
Parental assistance should be kept to a minimum; we expect to see authentic student work and have grade-specific categories for this reason. For example, the spelling and any illustrations on a kindergarten project board would likely (and should be!) different from that on a 6th grade project board.
